Vermont Center for Dance Education Faculty
Zoë Marr Hilliard trained at Adams School of Dance for eleven years before going on to earn a B.A. in both dance and sculpture at Smith College. While at Smith, Zoë was the Artistic Director of the school’s student-run dance company. She now dances with Vital Spark North performance group, as well as choreographing and performing in her own pieces at various venues around Vermont. In the summer of 2015 Zoë had the role of Lead Bee (and a nice tomato) in the Farm to Ballet Project, directed by Chatch Pregger. In April 2016 she participated in the second biennial DanceFest Vermont! at Castleton University, performing in both shows, including her own choreography. In 2012, Zoë performed professionally with Cradle to Grave Arts in Dear Pina, an evening-length tribute to the late Pina Bausch. In addition, Zoë teaches summer art camps for kids at the Carving Studio and Sculpture Center, facilitates Visions Camp for Rutland/Dorset Area Visiting Nurses, and leads workshops in dance and art at local art organizations, schools, libraries and rec centers. She has also choreographed for Marble Valley Players, Rutland Youth Theater, and taught dance for an interim period at Castleton University. Zoë has taught at Vermont Center for Dance Education since its inception in 2011.
Alycia Hollister Alycia have been dancing since the age of 5. She started her journey with the Adam’s School of Dance at the age of 12 and continued her dance education with the Vermont Center for Dance Education throughout high school. During this time she studied ballet, jazz, contemporary, and modern dance. She has since obtained a bachelor’s in business and a minor in dance from SUNY Potsdam, and a master in the Science of Accounting from Castleton University, and is currently working at a small accounting firm just over the border to New York. During her time at SUNY Potsdam Alycia studied ballet and modern dance as well as dance education. She was also selected to perform in a number of student run productions.
Tegan Waite has danced since the age of three. She has danced at Adams School of Dance, now Vermont Center for Dance Education since 2008, where she has studied and trained in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, and modern. Tegan first started choreographing in 2011 for Rip Jackson, and now works as a choreographer for RYT, Grace Congregational, and other projects. Tegan teaches dance at VCDE, where she has been working since 2013. She is most proud of her work on Les Miserables, performed summer of 2014 on the Paramount stage, and Jesus Christ Superstar performed spring 2015. Tegan has a passion for working with youth and young adults to bring the stage to life through movement. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Education at Castleton University.
